I cannot think of a more deserving person for this award, I am beyond grateful you were my first nursing preceptor! You taught me the core values of Duke Nursing and helped initiate my nursing career with a mindset of caring and compassion. Through orientation and transitioning into practice you stuck by my side and helped mold me into the nurse I am today. You are someone I can always go to with any clinical question or situation and if you don’t already know the answer, you will do everything possible to find the best possible solution. When I decided to advance my nursing career, you gave me the encouragement I needed and have continued to support me every day. I would not be the nurse I am today without you. To our entire team you are the greatest “nursing mom” and constantly contribute to a positive work culture through all that you do. Every single day you go above and beyond to make your patients and fellow team members feel special and give every person a sense of belonging. I truly value everything you do and 7-1 is so lucky to have you on our team! Congrats Debbie!
